This Privacy Policy explains how Caipher ("Caipher," "we," "us," or "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information. Caipher is developed and operated by David Justin Madigan, an individual developer. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at djmadigan@pm.me.

By using Caipher, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Who we are

Caipher is an iOS application that helps TikTok Shop affiliate creators manage violations, brand relationships, video scripts, and their email inbox. This policy covers the Caipher mobile app.

Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to provide the app's features. Specifically:

Account information. When you create an account or sign in, we collect your email address and authentication details. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the account identifier and email address those services provide. Authentication is handled through Supabase, our backend provider.

Email account data (Gmail). If you choose to connect a Gmail account, you grant Caipher permission through Google's secure OAuth process to read your email messages so the app can display and organize your inbox. We access this data only to provide the inbox features you use. You can disconnect your Gmail account at any time.

Email content processed for AI features. To provide features such as inbox classification, priority sorting, and message drafting, the content of relevant emails and your requests is sent to our third-party AI processor (Anthropic, the provider of the Claude AI models) for processing. This content is used to generate the results you see in the app and is not used to train AI models.

Content you create. We store the information you enter into the app, including violation records, brand profiles, video scripts, and saved messages. This is stored in our backend (Supabase) so it is available to you across sessions.

Voice input. When you use voice features, your speech is transcribed into text using Apple's speech recognition. The resulting text is handled the same way as text you type.

Information we do NOT collect

Caipher does not use third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking technologies. We do not collect your location, we do not use advertising identifiers, and we do not sell or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the app's features
  • Authenticate you and keep you signed in
  • Display and organize your connected email
  • Generate AI-assisted results such as classifications, scripts, and drafts
  • Respond to your support requests

We do not use your information for advertising or sell it to third parties.

Third-party services

Caipher relies on a small number of service providers to function:

  • Supabase — authentication and secure storage of your account and app content
  • Google — Gmail access (only if you connect a Gmail account) and Google Sign-In (only if you use it)
  • Apple — Sign in with Apple (only if you use it) and on-device speech recognition
  • Anthropic — AI processing of email content and requests to generate app features

Each provider processes your data only to deliver the relevant feature. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.

Data retention

We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or specific content, we remove the associated data from our systems, subject to any retention required by law. You can request deletion of your data by contacting us at djmadigan@pm.me.

Data security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and secure authentication. Your session is stored securely on your device. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

Your choices and rights

You can:

  • Disconnect your Gmail account at any time from within the app
  • Delete content you have created
  • Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us
  • Stop using the app and request that we delete your account

Age requirement and children's privacy

Caipher is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. The app is not directed to minors, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. Your continued use of Caipher after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
